The Institute of Chemical Research of Catalonia performs excellent research at the frontier of knowledge in two main areas: Catalysis and Renewable Energy. ICIQ is committed to effect change in society for a more sustainable community. The institute is working to develop and improve novel chemical processes, molecules, and materials to minimise waste and energy consumption. From a catalytic approach – through the generation of hydrogen from water – the development of novel solar cells, the CO₂ conversion into liquid fuels and better feedstocks for the chemical industry, and new materials and processes for energy storage.
